Shell is proposing to collect, resize and process organic wastes, and transport them to a primary anaerobic digestor facility to produce biogas and digestate. The biogas will be upgraded to renewable natural gas (RNG), with digestate applied to farm land or converted to fertilizer. The produced RNG will provide clean energy while diverting agricultural waste and manure and avoiding methane emissions, and creating a new outlet for agriculture and livestock sectors in the province.
